John WADDING

Margaret (Davis) and James WADDEN/WADDING’s oldest son John was b. 12 Feb 1880 in Wexford town.

He married Johanna KELLY there in 1902.

They had five children in Wexford and their last in Dublin:

John was a printer, and according to his cousin Lucie’s daughter, Fluffy, a representative for linotype printing machines in Ireland.

Some time between Theresa’s birth in June 1910 and the census of April 1911 the family moved to Dublin where they lived in Fairview / Drumcondra at 4 Susanville Rd.

John died aged 58 in 1937 of acute myocarditis – inflammation of the heart muscle, and pulmonary odema – fluid in the lungs.

Johanna reportedly lived with her third child, daughter Anna LAMBERT, and died as a result of a fire-related accident. I can find no death record before 1969 so presume this was post 1969.

According to Eve ‘Fluffy’ (Glancy) O’DONOVAN’s correspondence, John WADDING was ‘very dear to my family, always visiting when in Cork. ‘ Fluffy described staying with the WADDING family in Dublin, and her delight at attending the Abbey Theatre with them.
