Francis Anthony, born 22 May 1907 at Magazine Rd, Cork was the tenth child of Mary B. (O’/Callaghan) and George DAVIS, and was their sixth child to survive infancy. Francis was known as Frank.
Frank was a tailor like his grandfather Timothy O’/CALLAGHAN, uncle Denis and first cousin Walter FURLONG. He later worked as an upholsterer for Ford motorcars, which was established in Cork in 1917, on the old Cork racecourse. [1] (The Cork Ford car factory closed in 1984.)
Reportedly, Frank had also worked in England, for Ford of Dagenham.
Frank married Evelyn Ita BUTLER (Ita) on 2nd October 1942 at Blackrock in Cork at the age of 35.

They had the following children:
| Son | b. 1945 | Lives in Boulder, Colorado, USA Married 2 sons |
| Mary N. | b. 2nd quarter 1951 | There’s no death record of infant Mary (FMP, Ancestry, IrishGenealogy sites) |

Either Frank or his brother Ted played the violin. Frank reportedly made his HYLAND nephews suits, recycling adult suits for them.
Death
At the end of his life Frank and Ita lived in Ballinlough, in the south of Cork city. Frank died on 26 October 1967, at St Finbarr’s hospital. The cause of death was respiratory failure, chronic obstructive airway disease and hypertension. Frank had spent 22 days in hospital prior to his death.

Frank’s death notice was in the October 28, 1967 Examiner:

Frank is buried at St Michael’s cemetery, Blackrock, Cork.

The Davis family had use of a holiday shack at Crosshaven, County Cork. The shacks were built from Ford’s boxes.
