There has been speculation that Michael DOOLEY and Sarah (Surname unknown), my great, great, great grandparents were from Stradbally near the Laois border with County Carlow but I do not know what this is based on. I have found no baptisms for their known children in the Stradbally parish between 1820-1829 although Dooley, and variant spellings, is a common enough name in that area. Many nearby parish records do not go back that far, so we may never know.

We do know from the contestation of the will of William CONROY in 1939 (see below) that Michael and Sarah DOOLEY had the following children who produced their own children. There may of course have been other children in this family [1]:

[1] According to Dinny HYLAND, a HENNESSY believed he was the great grandson of a DOOLEY. I have not been able to find a link to another sibling as yet.
I am working DNA connections to see if I can progress this side of the family, seemingly deeply rooted in the soil of County Laois.
If you are a Dooley, Hennessy Flynn or Hyland descendant, please get in touch.
